Moon Dance (Vampire for Hire #1) - J.R. Rain

Moon Dance (Vampire for Hire #1) - J.R. Rain

I was bored a couple of weeks ago so I started downloading some free kindle books from Amazon and Moon Dance happened to be one of them. I was trying to choose which book to read first and eventually chose this one - I don't know if it was the cover which looked so much better than most of the other free books or if it was the description but regardless I gave it a try and I'm so glad I did. I cannot stop reading his books now. I ended up buying every single book in this series along with all of the short stories and I had such a blast.

Vampire for Hire is such a fun, light reading experience. The books aren't too long or too short, they're just right especially for the bargain price you get them for. I don't know which suprised me more the fact that these books are written so well and that I can relate to so many characters or the raw humor/emotion and sometimes horror that Samantha Moon exhibits. I love that she seems to enjoy Judge Judy as much as I do :) Not to mention the fact that she has evolved into one mean (yet curvy) crimefighter all the while having to deal with martial issues, new boyfriend issues, her own nature, keeping a conscience and doing what's right and doing what no one else can do all the while having to pick her kids up from soccer practice.

I could go on and on but I'm now working on his Knighthorse series and am very surprised that I'm having just as much fun with those too. I don't even really read mysteries but Mr. Rain happens to be onto something very special here. I like how all of his characters co-exist in the same world. It's like a freaky, fun soap opera without any of the bad acting. I'm hooked for life and can't wait for the next Vampire for Hire book to come out.
